Hungry brown bear is hunted down and shot dead after devouring 31 rabbits on a farm in Russia

  • A hungry bear that devoured 31 rabbits has been hunted down and shot in Russia.
    The determined creature rampaged through a farm in the village of Severnyye Koryaki in the eastern Kamchatka Krai region and snatched two rabbits.
    Seemingly emboldened by its first successful pillage, it went back the next day and butchered the remaining 29, tearing down their hutches in a furious feeding frenzy

    Hunters were called in by villagers to kill the brown bear, believed to be about six years old, because it was considered too dangerous to let it survive.
    Local resident Alla Ezeeva, who saw the bear arrive, said: 'When we saw it, we rushed into the house. It was very scary.'
    She believes the creature would have eaten all the cattle and other animals on the farm if it had not been shot
